It was my first ever bird race, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable and a great learning experience, getting to know the ways of these experienced birders, tracking, identifying, and their impressive in depth knowledge of the avifauna in Singapore. Our team, comprising Adrian, Shufen myself and our team leader Kim Chuah managed to id about 55 over 3 hours of walking and enjoyment of engaging with nature, looking for birds at Sungei Buloh and Kranji Marshes. Kim Chuah was our mentor, teacher and bird expert was a inspiration to us.
