At the main bird hide at Sungei Buloh Wetlands this morning, The children learnt to draw waders from the hide. Maria and I sketched the vegetation outcrop in the pond.

Fatahillah Square in KOTA TUA, JKT, guided by friends Harris and Johanna. Scenes of this popular urban tourist spot, surrounded by Dutch colonial buildings were sketched from inside CAFE BATAVIA, where we had coffee and snacks.

Bird Race 2017, with NSS at Sungei Buloh Wetlands 8 Oct October 9, 2017
It was my first ever bird race, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable and a great learning experience, getting to know the ways of these experienced birders, tracking, identifying, and their impressive in depth knowledge of the avifauna in Singapore. Our team, comprising Adrian, Shufen myself and our team leader Kim Chuah managed to id about 55 over 3 hours of walking and enjoyment of engaging with nature, looking for birds at Sungei Buloh and Kranji Marshes. Kim Chuah was our mentor, teacher and bird expert was a inspiration to us.
