This is a water color pencil sketch of the flooded mudflat to the right of the main bird hide.
The tides in December are usually very high and I make it a point to visit and paint as much as possible the clean and green tide waters in the cool mornings.

This morning I sketched this epiphyte growing on a buta tree, above the sea water and yet appears quite precarious with the rising tide…… it was a super high tide rising to just below the planks on the  boardwalk.

Sea Holly at Sungei Buloh Wetalnds Reserve.
This special day comes once in a hundred years and i am very happy to be part of it , and enjoying nature at its best in my favourite nature reserve.. And to top it all, the tide was at a super high level,, just 3 inches beneath the boardwalk, giving me the feeling of walking on water almost. It was so green and clean, crabs and nerite shells clambered high onto the boardwalk and overhanging branches, welcoming this special day in the calendar. And I sketched a nearby Sea Holly to complete my joyous experience…Tham Pui San 12 Dec 2012.
