About December 14, 2006

Art highlights at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve

Using nature as the theme for creative expression is one aim of these art activities here.
Participants will learn to appreciate nature better through this first hand engagement and in the process start a concerned relationship with the environment.

    Hi Pui San,
This is so interesting. I didn’t know there is such an activity at Sungei Buloh. Will want to go by and check it out. The last time I painted was like 16 years ago.

Wow, it is very nice to see your work and your volunteer involvement. I’m an ex-neighbour (my parents are still in FT Park), and had briefly worked with June years years before.
More like CM’s friend, occasionally at the pool.
We haven’t been to Sungei Buloh yet, and will want to interest my 10 year old son and 5 year old daughter in a walk there. And hopefully try to catch you at your painting session late August.
Take care, and keep up the great work.
    Julie

    Dear Sir/Madam,

On behalf of the National Library Board (NLB), we would like to invite you to pledge your blog to the Singapore Memory Project as part of efforts to collect memories that are already manifested in existing online channels.

The Singapore Memory Project (SMP) is a national initiative to collect, preserve and provide access to Singapore’s knowledge materials. Spearheaded by NLB, the SMP aims to build a national collection of content in diverse formats (including print, audio and video), to preserve them in digital form, and make them available for discovery and research.

By pledging your blog to SMP, you are affirming that every memory matters. Whether your posts are an account of your daily life, or an expression of your thoughts, the SMP hopes to find a home for your memories so that it can help build towards an understanding of Singapore. You will also receive a badge that you can display on your blog in recognition of your contributions.

Contributors to this blog pledging initiative will be listed on Singapore Memory portal’s blog pledging webpage. All blogs pledged to SMP will archived using NLB’s web harvesting software, in addition to images of each blog’s landing page.

Hi Mr Tham, I am from Fernvale Primary School and had just attended a trail today carried out by you in the afternoon at Sungei Boloh. You shared with us many interesting stories and I also think that the drawings you sketched were incredible. You had made a very good impression in my mind since then. Thanks for the motivation. By the way, we took a group photo just now and I would appreciate if you could forward it to my e-mail: bkhoo03@hotmail.com .
I look forward to your favourable reply!
    Thanks!
    Jing Xuan

  8. Jing Xuan, glad you learn something from the wetlands tour. I will send the photo to your email address.
Hope you will enjoy our wetland environment with your friends and family too. Come and visit this nature reserve again.

  9. Feliza Toh Says:

    Dear Mr. Tham Pui San,

I am Feliza, a Year 2 Mass Communication student from Ngee Ann Polytechnic. I am currently doing a News Writing project in which I have to attend an interesting event to get an interview and write about it afterwards. I myself have a strong interest in Acrylic and Oil paintings and have been taking art classes for the past 3 years. I have heard of you conducting classes in the Botanic Gardens and Hort Park for those interested in art. I am truly intrigued by your watercolour and sketch works and I am looking forward to taking part in your event on the 21st of May, 9:00-11:00am at the Botanic Gardens to hopefully brush up my skills and learn from you. Apart from that, as I would love my assignment to be about something that interests me and that I am passionate about, would it be possible to get a short 15-minute interview with you before or after the event? It would be such an honour to meet you!

If you have any enquiries, do not hesitate to contact me at 83611187 or felizatoh@hotmail.com. I look forward to hear from you soon!
Thankyou so much for taking your time to read this, Mr Tham!
